The experience

Yakitori — chicken grilled stick by stick over charcoal — is Japan's favorite comfort food, and behind its simplicity lies real craft. In this private 100-minute experience at Waraidori Mondo, a much-loved yakitori restaurant in Fukuyama, you step to the counter and learn that craft with your own hands, with an English-speaking interpreter at your side throughout.

Put on a traditional happi coat and watch the master break down fresh chicken, explaining each cut as the knife moves. Then take over yourself: thread four skewers — tender neck (seseri), delicate breast fillet (sasami), crunchy gizzard (sunazuri) and juicy thigh (momo) — and grill them over real charcoal, choosing between the restaurant's secret tare sauce and its specially blended salt. Finally, sit down to the tasting: your own four skewers hot off the grill, two more grilled by the master, and a rice ball to round things off, with soft drinks included. Finish with a commemorative photo together with the master.

This is a private session exclusively for your group of 1 to 10 guests, held entirely inside the restaurant — rain or shine.
