From Hiroshima
Most travellers who visit the Peace Memorial Park or Miyajima pass straight through our part of Japan without knowing it. Fukuyama sits on the San'yo Shinkansen line — about 25 minutes east of Hiroshima Station, and directly on your way to or from Kyoto and Osaka.
Step off the bullet train and Fukuyama Castle is standing right beside the platform. The Noh theatre is a fifteen-minute walk away, and the yakitori counter just a five-minute taxi ride — experiences that no crowd will ever share with you. Riders can continue by highway bus across the Seto Inland Sea to the Shimanami Kaido cycling tour.
